Mr. Underwood formed Underwood & Associates in 1992 as a landscape architecture and environmental design firm. Since 1994, he has served as an Associate Investigator with the Meadowview Biological Research Station [link], and co-authored a number of scientific papers on Atlantic White Cedar, threatened species recovery, and environmental restoration. Additionally, he has served on the Chesapeake Forest Lands Citizen's Advisory Task Force, the Governor's Terrapin Task Force, and the Board of Directors of the Severn River Association. He was also the Senior Science Advisor on the committee that drafted the Anne Arundel County Bog Protection Act of 2002. His work in stream and wetland restoration has attracted national attention, and extensive coverage in publications such as the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, the Capital, and Chesapeake Life.
